was announced as one of the world’s top 25 tourism websites on August 8th, 2017! 

The website, designed by Dara Creative designer Laura Hodson, was ranked by industry intelligence platform, Skift, among other national tourism websites from New Zealand, Australia, and Canada.

Following a major rebrand and relaunch in April 2017, is now one of the most advanced and interactive local authority platforms in the country. The objective of the website is to inform residents and tourists alike about all that the city of Limerick has to offer. best tourism website

According to Skift, was chosen as one of the world’s top tourism platform because “It… gives you a sense of what it’s like to live in the city and has helpful resources for locals to understand why they should be involved in the city’s tourism industry.” 

When working on the site, Laura was determined to reflect the connectivity and diversity of Limerick in the design of the site. The user-led design was focused on creating a platform on which Limerick’s residents could essentially become ambassadors for the city. It was constructed in such a way that visually represents Limerick’s uniqueness and sense of community.

Laura Ryan, Head of Marketing and Communications at Limerick City and County Council also recognised this achievement: “We are delighted that is in such great company with some of the world’s top tourism websites, some of which we benchmarked ourselves against when designing the new site.”
