John Cradock (JCL) are a leading civil engineering and building contractor based in Kildare, Ireland. As construction partners, JCL works with various clients on projects including road and infrastructure, structures, emergency works and water and wastewater works. They came to Dara Creative to help reposition them within the construction industry and make them an attractive proposition to both domestic and overseas clients. They required a new website which supported their new brand positioning of being a construction partner, who’s team of skilled experts deliver solutions with integrity and invention.

Strategy

To begin this project, our design team worked closely with the team at JCL to define their brand positioning and a new identity. Our commercial director carried out extensive competitor research to position JCL in this competitive market place. This, along with a brand and value proposition workshop, enabled him to form brand identity concepts and present them to the JCL team. Once agreed, this brand identity helped form the website architecture - the main service Dara Creative were providing for John Cradock.

Service

Once the designer prepared the functional specifications of the website along with the sitemap displaying the pages and layout of these pages of the website, the development work began on creating this responsive website via Drupal. We conducted a photo shoot on-site to capture the essence of the brand and the people behind the JCL name. These raw images supported the brand identity on the new website as customers can see exactly who is involved in the business. Our design and development teams worked closely with our development team and ensured that the brand values and identity created during the Strategy stage of the project were clearly visible and showcased through this new website. Once the website was developed, user testing began to ensure that users were satisfied with the navigation and user experience of the website. The digital marketing team also stepped in to employ 301 redirects from the old website to the new website. This ensured that the websites search engine visibility were not impacted during the migration process. The team also optimised the website with keywords, meta descriptions and title tags, so that the website would be easier to find for relevant user search queries.
